G&G XVII - Good Times, Bad Rhymes

A Doggerel Ode to Gaming & Guinness Seventeen

Fellowship reigns and geniality abounds

When the g&geeks all gather from out of town

Some come often and others more rarely

From places like Ottawa and Grande Prairie

We even get two from Vancouver Island

And one thing we aren't when we gather is silent

We meet at Belongamick sometime around May

To drink beers, to swear, and play games for four days

Oh, not grown-up games, such as clubbing small balls

But battling with robots both enormous and small

Or exploring while dodging the Nazis' foul gaze

And rolling our bones in new custom dice trays!

In Suzuka, Japan, racing Formula cars

Or flying around an enormous Death Star

Pulling all games from the back of our shelves

Even betting on trivia made up by ourselves

Most games are long ones but there are lots of others

Drawn out from catching up with all our brothers

Starting with eats from the Baron of Burgers

And ending with parties of Trivia Murders

Not everyone drinks, but next day all are yawning

From chatting sometimes until two in the morning

Most of us have come back for this 17 times

And still these fine lads will put up with bad rhymes
